INTRO:
In this episode of Author’s Mic, I sit down with debut author, pastor, and speaker Arthor Faber to talk about what it means to lead with purpose. From his unexpected journey into authorship to launching his first book Effective, this conversation is one you don’t want to miss. Effective is a Christian leadership book with practical principles for anyone stepping into a leadership role—at work, at church, or at home.
Kelly Morgan: Hey everybody! Kelly Morgan here—author, publisher, and host—and this is another episode of Author’s Mic. I’m so excited today because I’ve got a special guest joining me: Author Arthor Faber. He’s a pastor, a speaker, and now a debut author. He’s here to connect with the indie author community and share his journey. So let’s dive in!
Kelly: Arthor, thank you so much for being here.
Arthor Faber: Thank you! It’s a privilege to be here with you, Kelly. I appreciate the invite and the chance to share space with your audience.
Kelly: From one author to another—what do you want to talk about today? Your book? The industry? The journey? The mic is yours.
Arthor: I appreciate that. First off, yes, my name is Author and I’m an author—so that always gets a little confusing! But to anyone out there writing: Keep writing. That’s the best advice I ever got. Even if what you write gets rejected or dismissed—keep going. Your voice matters. I truly believe God gave you that voice for a reason, and the only one who can silence it... is you.
Kelly: That’s powerful. So this is your first book, right?
Arthor: It is. I’ve written articles and editorials as a pastor for years, but I never set out to write a book. Honestly, this project started as part of my doctoral work. I thought I’d just complete the assignment—but the process uncovered something deeper. The result is Effective, a leadership book rooted in Christian values, but applicable to anyone stepping into a leadership role—whether that’s in the church, the workplace, or at home.
Kelly: What made you want to write about leadership?
Arthor: We’re in a leadership crisis—just turn on the evening news. Growing up, my grandparents had pictures of great leaders on their walls—people they respected and wanted us to emulate. Who are we putting on our walls today? Who do we want our kids to become? Leadership matters. And that’s what Effective is about. It outlines seven principles for leadership success. It’s not just theory—it’s structured, practical, and meant to help people become the kind of leaders who influence, uplift, and guide.
Kelly: How did you publish the book? Self-published? Traditional?
Arthor: We chose to self-publish. We had good meetings with a few traditional publishers—some even made strong offers—but we felt led to take the journey ourselves. For us, success isn’t just about sales. It’s about impact. If someone can say this book helped shape how they lead in their family, their church, or their community—that is success to me.
Kelly: When is the book officially launching?
Arthor: Effective will be available on all platforms starting July 25th. The manuscript is finalized, the buttons are pushed—we’re just doing the work now: promoting, sharing, and having conversations like this one. We’re also connecting with churches, schools, and organizations to get the word out.
Kelly: So if someone wants to learn more about you, how can they find you?
Arthor: You can find me at:
Kelly: I love that. And to everyone tuning in—if you're a creative, whether you're an author, editor, publisher, or illustrator, Author’s Mic is your space. If you’d like to be a guest, just visit the guest form on our Linktree: https://linktr.ee/BrightHeadedPublishing
