Sometimes we don't hit rock bottom.
Sometimes we get comfortable living there.
In this episode of The Author's Mic™, I shared a short reading from my book Weight For It, available in both print and audiobook format.
The scene is raw.
The main character is exhausted.
She's carrying the weight of disappointment, expectations, depression, grief, and a reflection she barely recognizes anymore.
She's tired all the time.
She has no energy.
She's overwhelmed by the life she's living and the person she's become.
Then someone asks her a simple question.
"So, what are you going to do about it?"
Not because they don't care.
Because they do.
Sometimes the people who love us most aren't the ones who comfort us.
Sometimes they're the ones willing to sit in the silence long enough to ask the question we're avoiding ourselves.
The question changes everything.
Not because the answer magically appears.
But because eventually we have to answer it.
Maybe not today.
Maybe not tomorrow.
But eventually we decide whether we're staying where we are or moving toward something different.
