The Author’s Mic™ | Weight For It and the Question That Changes Everything

This week I shared a short reading from my book Weight For It.

And if you know anything about this book, you know this is not some polished transformation story.

This is not before-and-after weight loss content.

This book lives in the messy middle.

The part people usually skip over.

The hard days.

The emotional eating.
The shame.
The depression.
The frustration.
The exhaustion.

The protagonist reaches a breaking point.

She’s overwhelmed by her life, by her body, by the expectations around her, and by what she sees in the mirror.

Then someone asks her a question.

A simple question.

A brutal question.

What are you going to do about it?

Whew.

That question hits because it removes excuses.

Not in a mean way.

Not in a judgmental way.

Just honestly.

Because at some point, we all have to face ourselves.

Not just with weight.

With life.

With business.

With relationships.

With habits.

With the things we complain about but keep tolerating.

Sometimes we get so used to our circumstances that we stop believing change is possible.

We adapt to dysfunction.

We settle into things that are hurting us.

We get comfortable in places we were never meant to stay.

And then comes the hard part.

Choice.

What are you going to do?

Not what happened to you.

Not what’s unfair.

Not what someone else did.

What are you going to do now?

That question can change everything.

Because awareness is one thing.

Action is another.

And real change happens when you stop just acknowledging the problem and start deciding what comes next.
